1. Blue Lagoon (Tham Phu Kham)

The Blue Lagoon is one of the most famous and visited lagoons in Vang Vieng. Accessible by a short drive or bike ride from the town center, it’s nestled in a picturesque setting surrounded by limestone karst hills. The lagoon’s clear blue waters are ideal for swimming, and there’s a rope swing for those seeking a playful plunge.

Tham Phu Kham Cave, located nearby, adds to the exploration, with a Buddha statue and a cool interior to explore.

Through the narrow passages in the cave, you will eventually find a small pool of water in which you can swim (in the dark…)

For Lagoon 2, they offer both a slide and a dive board. There is an restaurant for food, snacks or beers. The lagoon tends to be quite busy. In fact, there are two lagoons; one becomes busier after 11 am, while the other consistently remains empty (just turn left after the bridge). There are chairs and huts available to relax. There is space in the sun or shade for resting.  The food and smoothies from the nearby restaurants are delicious and reasonably priced.
